wedding post card from – La Jolla

It was an early evening lawn ceremony, completed by an arch of swords, a cocktail hour game of croquet and a wedding day mad-lib toast. This weekend, I was back in the sunshine of San Diego to photograph this fantastic wedding. E and K, whose engagement portraits were taken a few months ago in the drizzle of Jack London Square, were married on Saturday at La Estancia in Ja Jolla. Everything was beautiful. K was dapper in his dress whites and cover, and E was stunning in her beaded gown with a fantastic long and dramatic veil.

I’m thrilled to share some images from their beautiful wedding.
Thanks to both of their warm families for inviting me be a part of your wedding.

family portrait – La Jolla Cove

The fabulous Izzy Tihanyi of Surf Diva fame celebrated the baptism of her first daughter, Anabelle. The Tihanyi family were all together this week in La Jolla.

We met on Monday evening at La Jolla Cove to take some family and individual portraits. Here are a few of my favorites.

family portrait – quail gardens

Somehow it seems that photographers never really have many photographs of themselves. I do more than occasioanally find myself in this predicament as well.
Good friend, Dawn Tacker of Eos Photography, asked me to create a few family portraits for her (portraits in which she actually appeared). The family chose one of their favorite places to spend a serene afternoon, Quail Botanical Gardens.
How lovely to spend an afternoon enjoying the gardens, and being with such a wonderful family.

graham

Graham and his mom were the first to sign up for the mini portrait sessions we did through Little Fish Boutique.  Graham was very happy to be in t he park, and explore the grass, the flowers and the playground.

These are a few of my favorite portraits from the afternoon.

keala

One year old Keala and his mom met me last week for a mini portrait session at the local park.  I had a great time walking through the park with them, and photographing him.  The day was fantastic.

the marks family

What fun! Probably one of the more active group of subjects I have ever photographed.  Will and Theo, running in their stripes, and big brother Nathan (also the train conductor) let me photograph their playtime at the park.  Once all the wiggles were out, we did get a family portrait where most everyone is at least facing the camera.

heidi

Heidi was just waking up from a nap, when she came to meet me for a mini portrait session. She has one of the cutest baby faces I have ever seen.  Once she woke up, she turned it on for the camera.

John Thomas met me at the playground last week.  He is a very sweet and loving child.

engagement portraits – Dominique & Jonathan

As those of you who were on the west coast this weekend, it was an amazing past few days in San Francisco. The sun was shining, the sky a brilliant blue, the breeze perfect for hammock napping, the shorelines very crowded. Baker Beach was out of the question for parking so I met up with Dominique and Jonathan on Saturday afternoon at Fort Funston to make some engagement portraits. We found a bit of sheltered shade in the trees and under the natural(I think) arch by the water.
They will be married in June, before their further adventures in Brazil to be followed by Harvard Business School and Law School respectively.
