Blisswork | Boston Engagement Portraits | S & B

To hear them tell it, recounting their first meeting, S. and B. had an instant and easy rapport.  I recognized this the first time we met at the studio.  They are genuinely happy to be near one another, and that warmth and affection radiates from them.  We met up  last weekend, at the scene of their actual proposal and engagement,  to do a portrait session.  Impending thunderstorms and slight drizzle did naught to dampen the mood.  Looking forward to their wedding later this summer at the Nashoba Valley Winery.

Ending the evening at the Oak Room in the Fairmont Copley with a glass of wine and a kiss.

Lovely afternoon in the park with lovebirds.

Blisswork Engagement Portraits | Frankin Park | D & J

Sunday morning was gorgeous, a temperature throwback to early September, but with the full height of color and light of a New England Fall.  J. and D. are wonderful to spend time with, as they are easy and comfortable with each other.  D. brought two yellow flowers that popped wonderfully against the palette of autumn colors around us.  Listening to J and D, I was tickled by their slightly differing accounts of how they met, and the journey that they took over ten years to come to this place today – in love, wrapped up in bliss. They are both keenly aware of media and in tune to visual literacy, smartMeme and Rough Mountain, being their respective creative businesses.

I am thrilled to have been asked to document their wedding later this year – and to have something delightful on which to think forward during the impending winter ahead.

Fall in love.

Engagement | Capitola | A & J

I’m not sure if I know anyone who has more fun than A. And she’s found her stoic counterpart in J.  She sees the positive, the excitement in the world around her. He’s a little more wary, guarded.  He grounds her. She coaxes a smile.  There is a definite electric spark between them.  They laugh, eye each other, and grab a shot at the bar before we begin.

album | engagements

I’ve been experimenting with taking album creation in house. Still working out a few kinks in the process, but having a wonderful time getting away from the screen and back to the workbench. This is a small panorama album that features full page spreads from a few of my favorite engagement sessions from the past year.

This album is a horizontal 4×12″, and the open spreads showcase a full-frame 8×12.

Engagement | Boston | Georges & Patrick

As promised, a few more images from the Sunday afternoon engagement portrait session with Georges and Patrick.  We had a great time walking through their South End neighborhood with the adorable fur-babies Simon and Sushi and ended the afternoon in the Boston Common.

sneak peek – Georges & Patrick | Engagement | Boston

I felt compelled to post at least one image as I was editing this afternoon. This is one of my favorite portrait from my lovely Sunday afternoon engagement session with Georges and Patrick.  Thanks to Benjamin Spear of Thinkside for introducing me to this handsome and newly engaged couple.

engagement | kelley & joe | SF

Against the wind, the whipping bursts of rain and gusts of sand, Kelley and Joe toughed out a cold and windy engagement shoot at one of my favorite San Francisco parks, Fort Funston.  I am usually there with Sadie, our dog, enjoying the views of the sea, the hills of the city. When it’s clear you can see out to the Fallarons and the peaks of the Golden Gate bridge.  Alas . . . yesterday was another story.

Despite the less than ideal weather, Kelley and Joe were upbeat and terrific to shoot.  Kelley kept warm snuggling into Joe’s arms, which seemed like the perfect place for her to spend a stormy afternoon. We ended the session with some coffee and pie at Joe’s of Westlake. Classic booths called for a sweet image in the evening light coming in through the windows. Lovely to be around two beautiful spirits – Looking forward to their August wedding in Danville.
